Of Montreal's new release in how many formats?
According to the band's blog there will be 7 different formats from which to choose: CD, 180-gram LP, T-shirt, tote bag, button set, paper lantern, and wall decal set. All 7 will feature a digital download of the album, which releases 10/7. jh via

Train Car Project
For 2 years, PROCESS has been organizing the Train Car Project- 60 artists from around the world who were given a train car illustration, either as a 3-color screenprint or a digital vector file. Once received, the artists had complete creative control to do what they wanted with the train.

Beautiful Losers
We're pretty excited to see this film about a bunch of artists from the 90s who supportively became successes on their own terms...and kind of by surprise.

Le Gun- Selling Out?
We first read about Le Gun, a collective of art grads from the Royal College of Art, when we read this article in Eye last year.
And we've been following them ever since because the way they fuse together their talents of illustration and graphic design is f*ing brilliant.
So imagine our surprise when we saw this recent post on Eye's blog calling them sell-outs due to their recent mainstream success. Very interesting. jh

Chicago's next wave- Ryan Duggan
Dave came home from The Hideout the other night all excited about a poster he had ripped from the wall. Half awake, I noticed the signature- Ryan Duggan.
Ryan was an art director for Venus while I was an editor. Fast forward 4 years and he's now printing at Screwball Press. Crazy, tiny world... Chicagoans may also know Duggan as founder of the Logan Square Community Book Exchange. jh

Dear god, we're excited! Mark Mothersbaugh's limited edition digital prints from 'Postcard Diaries 2008' will be exhibited at Chicago's David Leonardis Gallery!
While touring with DEVO, Mothersbaugh began illustrating on postcards to send to friends and family, which he still creates, and has been creating every day... for more than 30 years.

Hot and Cold Zine
Hot & Cold is a collaborative art zine project created by Californian artists Griffin McPartland and Chris Duncan. For each issue, 20 artists are invited to participate in creating this hand crafted, limited edition zine. No supercontrived design here. Think photocopies, stencils, silk-screen, and stickers.
Hot & Cold has worked with over 100 artists, has shown at galleries all over the US and was recently acquired by New York’s MoMA for their permanent collection. jh via

Geoff McFetridge
Geoff McFetridge is taking over the world. It's true. As the art director for Beastie Boys mag Grand Royal in the 90s, this artist/designer launched his own graphic design studio, Champion Graphics. Skateboards, billboards, film titles, music videos, a Nike shoe...he's done it. What could possibly be next?
He just launched a wallpaper line, Pottok Prints- completely recyclable and hand-silkscreened using water-based inks and no preservatives. Check out the pics of the ongoing Pottok exhibit at Paris' Colette here. And Coudal has a great video about the the mustached mastermind here. jh
